CHIREDZI – Triangle FC are grieving over the passing on of Chipo Dekete, a devoted team fan who passed on last Friday after a short illness.
The team observed a minute of silence in honour of Dekete before their match with Bantu Rovers which they went on to win 1-0 at Gibbo Stadium last Sunday.
After the match, Triangle FC gaffer Taurai Mangwiro said the team was dedicating the victory to their fallen supporter.
“I would like to dedicate this victory to our sister Chipo who was a well-known supporter of our team. We are saddened by that so with this victory, we say may her soul rest in peace,” Mangwiro said.
Tererai Zinyowera another Triangle FC supporter, described Dekete as a passionate fan who would travel to any Triangle FC match using her own resources.
“Chipo was a true Meke supporter. She would travel to as far as Kariba and last time, we were with her in Beitbridge for the match against Tsholotsho,” said Zinyowera.
Triangle FC midfielder, Lameck Nhamo said his experience with the team will never be the same without Dekete cheering him up.
“Life will never be the same at Triangle FC without sister Chipo cheering me up. We both came from Save village,” said Nhamo.
TellZim News learnt that Dekete suffered a short illness and died while receiving traditional medication at her rural home in Save.sport, local
