30 Jan 2017 – MUTARE – Tenax Football Club, the a team from the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS), now has a new executive for the club following elections recently held at ZPCS Headquarters in Mutare.
After serving three years in the office, it was time for the Tenax FC executive members to leave office and pave way for new leadership. The newly elected executive will be in office for the next three years.
Superintendent Maplan Kakoto was voted chairperson of the service club after beating two other contestants; Supt Gumindega and Chief Prison Officer (CPO) Randazha, who were vying for the same post.
Principal Prison Officer (PPO) Steven Masina was voted vice chair.
Supt Kakoto said he valued the post and will do all it takes to do better for the club.
“The newly elected board will do all it takes to ensure continuity and better changes for the club. The biggest hurdles lie ahead and your wavering support is now needed the most,” he said.
The secretariat post was taken by PPO Elisha Chirashanye who emerged uncontested after serving in the same capacity over the last three years while Sergeant Major Clemence Gombakomba took the vice secretary’s position.
Tenax FC represents the entire ZPCS as a service team, encompassing players from Hwahwa, Flame Lily and Ntabazinduna football clubs.news
