Dear First Lady, my sister Auxillia

12 Jan 2018 – Ladies and gentleman, I am enjoying the new dispensation to the fullest. Not that there are any meaningful changes to the economic woes we are facing as a nation but simply because it’s a life without Mugabe – mudhara uya waindikataza ini ndochokwadi mundiregererewo ipapo. Waiita kusvonga, kushabwabwa senge shuma dzisina kuibva zvakanaka.
But the new era is full of comedians; I mean real comedians who can scoop awards kana vakada zvavo kukwikwidzana nanaGonyeti at the stage. I never thought a whole family can be made up of comedians kubva kuna baba kusvika kuna mai. But ava amai vanozonyanya Grace aiva kuseri chaiko.
Mapombi would like to start by warning baba Mnangagwa that people of Zimbabwe are not stupid at all. The current arrests of politicians accused of corruption and abuse of office is a welcome development and we are following it with keen interest.
But since the arrests begun Mapombi noticed that only those from rival Generation 40 (G40) faction are being arrested while those from Team Lacoste are being exonerated. People have made a lot of noise about ministers like Mpofu, Parirenyatwa and Mandiwanzira but because ndevedu havabatwe. We have again noticed that all powerful posts arikungopiwa Midlands, Mberengwa to be specific, which people again, are not happy about.
But I wish if my surname was a Moyo I’m sure Mnangagwa zvingadaro akangondiwanirawo kwekundikanda kuti ndidye zvangu mari. Mr President has shown, beyond doubt, his love for the Moyos kuti July Moyo, Isaac Moyo, Elson Moyo, S.K Moyo, S.B. Moyo neuyazve umwe Moyo uya. Wozodeyi?
Mapombi is seriously considering changing her surname from Mapombi Adonha to Mapombi Moyo. Munotoseka asi pamwe zvichandibatsira mukandiwana ndava panyanga one day. From today onwards call me Mapombi Moyo.
The only advantage Mnangagwa has is that he will compete against a useless MDC Alliance which is at catch 22 situation because of Tsvangirai’s ever deteriorating health. Kana akasvika kusarudzo achigona kungofamba chete chokwadi munochiona naMorgan. With the way these guys are arresting politicians on factional lines and countless the blunders they are making, munoshagadwa zvenyu mukabvuma naye Morgirls.
Now to my sister Auxillia, madam first lady. Mapombi is beginning to think pane kamwe kamweya kanongobata the moment one is called first lady. Auxillia was so cool when she was the MP for Chirumhanzu – Zibagwe for over two years now but the moment she became first lady haaa dzvatsvatsva rani iroro.
She is just everywhere and she likes publicity too much. There is nothing wrong about enjoying good publicity but too much of it, especially pasina zvine musoro zvinotaurwa kana zvinenge zvaitwa is very dangerous. You can win the hearts of people by a stage-managed act of buying tomatoes and oranges by the roadside. If you were not buying mangoes and tomatoes from the streets all along, why now mava first lady nhai sisi? Simply because you want publicity and the guys from that Zanu PF-controlled television are always assigned to follow you? An outrageous waste of resources indeed.
I heard you came to Boroma orphanage in Zaka and you brought Chicken Inn and bottled water among few other goodies; kkkkkk madam first lady why waste a lot of money buying Chicken Inn for the orphans instead of starting an income generating project for them. How about drilling a borehole? Poultry or piggery projects?
They enjoyed eating that good food for that day only but now they are facing the same problems as before. It could have not been an issue if you had done an income generating project for them so that they can sustain themselves but kungouya kuzodya zvikafu zvonaka mobva motoenda hazvibatsireba.
Anyway, my sister I just want to urge you that take it easy – bhora pasi mudenga ndemeshiri nendege. We can easily predict that tomorrow you will be visiting either a hospital or an orphanage. Dzikamai amai. Asi iye Mavhaire haana kukwana shuwa, hanzi Pesvunemago kkkk. Ungapa first lady zita remadunhurirwa iwe? Apa Grace ndiwe wakamutumidza kuti Marujata futi. Nazokuona kuti hauna kudzikama Dzikamai.
But Mapombi will not hesistate to tell the first lady that very soon people will begin to talk kuti hapana musiyano naGrace apa. It’s just that umwe anga agarisa ava kudziirwa and umwe achiri kungosvika haasati adziirwa. Just wait and see kana vagarisa havo pauFirst Lady ipapa chokwadi Grace anogona kuita nani.  And Mapombi just wonders how things would be like especially if it becomes a tag team of first lady and VP Chiwenga’s lady hohohoo hehehedaaa huriii chokwadi kunofiwa.
Or we should give her doctorate (PhD) just like Grace kuda vangagarisika. Yes, we should recognise her philanthropic work of going around visiting hospitals and orphanages as well as buying mangoes and tomatoes by the roadside. UZ please assist us on this one the same way you did to Grace. Ko zvombonetsa here just three months you will be doctor.
Mapombi will not go into detail on that one otherwise I lest I risk being put under house arrest. By the way, would it be even house arrest kana wakaitawo seni uchigara kuchitima where you survive on rotten bananas and maputi? Maybe it would be a market arrest kkkkkk. Ndiri kutamba hangu vana mukoma zvakaitwa Kudzi Chipanga zviye ini hangu ndiregerereiwo  I am only a woman asinawo chaanoziva, a very poor one for that matter!
Mapombi is talking too much today; it’s almost lunch time kana kumbozviona. Let me go ndindokanga hangu maputi angu for lunch. But before I go, did Mphoko manage to get the perks he was demanding? Kkkkkk that guy is something else. I once heard kuti zviuya hazviwanane but paya zvakawanana kwaaa. Mboko imboko!mapombi

MASVINGO – The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Masvingo province last week held a meeting with political parties that are represented in parliament to exchange ideas on the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) mop-up exercise which will end on February 08.
ZEC provincial chairperson, Zex Pudurai said the meeting with political parties went well with all stakeholders raising their concerns especially around the issue of new registration stations.
“We conducted a meeting with political parties that have representation in parliament to discuss the BVR mop-up exercise and opening of the registration centres,” Pudurai said.
Masvingo province has been allocated 40 kits and each district will have three teams except Bikita district which will have two teams. A total of 333 centres are expected to be covered in the new campaign.
“We agreed on a working plan to allocate the kits at Registrar General offices around the province but in case of other needs that may rise, we can always look into that,” Pudurai said.
ZEC has since reduced its target of seven million registered voters for the whole country to five million, after registering nearly 4.9 million voters in the initial blitz.
The commission highlighted that the new initiative did not signal the end of the registration process, but a cut-off date that enables it to prepare a provisional voters roll.
The number of those registered to vote in the province in the province as on January 10 was 545 442, with 226 222 of them being male with 319 220 female. A total of 11 604 prospective registrants were turned away for various reason.local

CHIPINGE – In supporting the government’s education policy, business tycoon Garikai Gwenzi has once again delivered on his promise to establish a state-of-the-art school in the name PaGomo Primary Day and Boarding School in Chipinge.
The school opened its doors for the first time on January 9, 2017 and it prides itself for being the best in Chipinge owing to its low teacher pupil ratio, affordable fees structure and unmatched learning facilities.
Gwenzi, who is PaGomo Primary Day and Boarding School director, said the school opened its doors at the most opportune time to address the absence of an affordable alternative for the many parents who seek a good primary education for their children.
“Education is key to the future and we have to invest in that future for our children. We have to give them a good education beginning at the lowest level so that they can look forward to a promising future.
“Most parents worry about good education for their children when they reach secondary level but we are saying let’s build from the foundation and that foundation is PaGomo Primary Day and Boarding Primary School,” said Gwenzi.
He said the school enrols from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 7, adding that places are still available.
“Places for both boarders and day scholars are still available and parents are welcome to bring their children for the best care,” said Gwenzi.
Gwenzi is also the director of Gutika Academy Secondary Boarding School in Checheche.education

Renco Mine – Over the festive holidays, Transform Zimbabwe (TZ) Masvingo South leaders toured the constituency for a massive mobilisation and recruitment exercise which they said will see the ruling Zanu PF party getting a run for its money in the upcoming general election.
The TZ team was led by Justin Makota who aspires to represent the party as its parliamentary candidate in the election and the party’s district chairperson Devias Muchoko.
They toured wards 30, 26, 24, 23 and 35 with a meeting being held with party supporters in Ward 30 at Renco Mine Turn Off.
The team proceeded to Ward 26 at Chiwawa Shops where a group of youth members were waiting. Headman Danda attended the meeting and encouraged young, God-fearing people to stand up and occupy positions of influence.
The youth in Ward 26 raised a pertinent issue of the distance to the polling station saying they walk about 8 km since they live at the boundary of the ward.
In Ward 24 at Guwa shopping centre, the TZ team interacted with parents and youth who complained about the cashless festive season which is blamed on governance failure by the Zanu PF led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
At Mavizhu shopping centre in Ward 23, the TZ soccer team was eagerly waiting for their promised soccer kit which was then delivered.
The party donated balls to the Ward 23 TZ youth through party youth chairperson Ernest Pikire Matewe.
The other set of soccer kit was donated to Ward 35 which happens to be in Renco Mine. Several issues that range from unemployment and underdevelopment were raised by the people of Renco and elsewhere in the constituency.
The party also held a youth soccer tournament and ladies meeting on the same day and place. The tournament was made up of three main teams Chikuza, Number 9 and Nyikavanhu.
After the tournament, TZ representatives took time to have a youth talk with the players whom they encouraged to register to vote and improve themselves educationally.politics

BIKITA – A man from Murambiwa village under Chief Mkanganwi left tongues wagging after he left his wife and kids for a mistress before faking his own death to prevent people from looking for him.
Freddy Chimbunde, whose age was given as 75, put his relatives and friends in a panic mode a few days after Christmas Day when he used his mistress’ daughter’s mobile phone to call his relatives pretending to be a stranger who had found Chimbunde’s body hanging on a tree.
Chimbunde had reportedly been having an illicit affair with a married woman whose husband is saving a prison term. The woman was identified as Noster Mutanga.
Mudavanhu Mundenga, who is the Murambiwa village head, confirmed the incident saying he was disgusted by the shameless incident which he said was against traditional African custom.
He said he had taken the issue to Chief Mkanganwi’s court since Chimbunde and his lover failed to attend a village meeting he had called to deliberate the matter.
“It is disgusting that elderly people are at the forefront of mischief instead of them being the role models. I have taken the matter to Chief Mkanganwi’s court since he and his lover did not attend the village court I called.
“Chimbunde has lost the respect that we had for him and I am considering evicting him from my village since he has proven to be shameless.
A close family member who spoke on conditions of anonymity said when word of Chimbunde’s supposed death began to circulate, friends and relatives from all over came to pay their condolences and to commiserate with the grieving family.
The source said mourners spent almost a week gathered at the ‘deceased’s’ homestead while men searched the forest looking for the body.
All the while, Chimbunde continued to play his games, calling anonymously and giving confusing directions about where the body was.
His mistress, who is known in her village for her drinking habits, later sold out the deal and revealed that Chimbunde was at her place.
Relatives then went to check with Mutanga and witnessed the shock of their lives when they found the elderly Chimbunde hiding behind the door of one of the houses.
When contacted for a comment Chimbunde threatened that if people continue pestering him about the matter, he would this time around hang himself for real.local

NYAJENA – Professor Wiseman Magwa and his wife Dr Simurofosa Magwa recently held a double ceremony for their 30th wedding anniversary and their academic achievements at their rural home in Tongofa village under Chief Nyajena over the weekend.
The event was attended by over 500 people and the guest of honour was Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) Vice Chancellor Professor Rungano Zvobgo who hailed the couple for not neglecting their rural home like what other educated and successful people do.
“When they succeed in life, many people forget their roots and they want to spend their lives in town. These two have not done that and this is the reason why we are celebrating their anniversary here. People need to develop their homes like what the Magwas have done so that you won’t be ashamed of it,” said Prof Zvobgo.
Tongofa village head Wicklife Musingarimi praised the Magwas for contributing to the village by helping to facilitate the electrification of the area.
Chief Fortune Charumbira, who was also a guest speaker, weighed in and referred to the Magwas as a light which should illuminate the way of others.
He urged all men to support their wives if they want to study and not to frustrate their ambitions.
Prof Magwa, who is the first and current Vice Chancellor of Reformed Church University (RCU), thanked fellow academics, family and friends saying his achievements were a result of their encouragement.
“I thank my family and friends who supported this event to become a success that it is. I thank all the academics who are here; it has been their encouragement as well as my family’s that I have reached this far in pursuit of excellence,” said Prof Magwa.local

NPP national executive members Makausi, Uyoyo dump Mujuru

MASVINGO – It never rains but pours for the Joice Mujuru led National People’s Party (NPP) as it continues to lose key members with the latest being the national secretary for legal affairs Rodney Makausi and Masvingo provincial chairperson Shylet Uyoyo calling it quits.
In their resignation letters, seen by TellZim News, Makausi and Uyoyo say they have personal businesses to attend to, making them unavailable for party business.
Makausi indicated in the resignation letter addressed to NPP national chairperson Gift Nyandoro that he was parting ways with the party as they have other critical matters to attend to.
“I wish to humbly notify you that I have crucial work which I need to be embarking on to such an extent that I will not have adequate time to devote myself to the party business. It would therefore only be logical that I stand down from my post for someone else to take over.
“I accordingly in the exercise of my constitutional and legal rights to belong to a political party of my choice inform you of my voluntary resignation from the National People’s Party,” said Makausi in his letter.
Uyoyo’s resignation letter addressed to national chairlady Marian Chombo said she was resigning from the party without giving any other reasons.
“Please accept this letter as formal notification of my resignation from National People’s Party,” said Uyoyo in her letter.
There are however, reports that both Makausi and Uyoyo plan to go back to Zanu PF. Makausi is also said to be interested in contesting for Masvingo Urban constituency.
When contacted for comment Makausi dismissed the allegations as mere bar talk saying his resignation was because he has personal business to attend to.
“I resigned from NPP because I have a lot of business to attend but I want to make it clear that I currently have no interests of contesting for any position in the election,” said Makausi.
Uyoyo made a clear hint she intends to retrace her footsteps back to Zanu PF, saying she had left the ruling party because of former President Robert Mugabe, who is no longer there.
“I left Zanu PF because of Mugabe and his wife; but he is now gone,” said Uyoyo.
NPP national spokesperson Jeffreyson Chitando said he was unaware of the resignation letters but said the party remains strong despite the current turbulence.
“I am yet to see the resignation letters but all I can tell you is that the party remains strong and committed to bring about the change which is long overdue in the country,” said Chitando.
Nyandoro could not be reached for comment by the time of going to print as his mobile was not reachable.local

Rutenga Zesa worker threatened with gun violence for dating married woman

MWENEZI – Notice Ndlovu, a driver at Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (Zesa) Rutenga branch, is living in fear after the husband of the woman he had an adulterous relationship with allegedly promised to shoot him, the Mwenezi Magistrates’ Court heard.
Ndlovu admitted to having an affair with Sifasonge Muleya’s wife.
He however dragged Muleya, an employee at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), to the civil court seeking a protection order. He told the court that at one point in time, Muleya telephoned him swearing that he will shoot him dead for having an affair with his wife.
In his defence, Ndlovu pointed out that he fell in love with Muleya’s wife because he was not aware that she was married to another man. Muleya, however, dismissed the claims arguing that Ndlovu knew very well that the woman in question was married to him.
Muleya told the court that the matter was still troubling him and he requested for the case to be postponed as he was due for a special assignment at his work place.
Magistrate Langton Ndokera took his time trying to counsel the two men before postponing the matter to a later date as per Muleya’s request. The matter was due to be heard again by the time of going to print.
