ZAKA – The  current wave of resistance and protesting in the country has not spared St Antonys’ High (Musiso) pupils who have recently formed a group known as ‘Santos Boko Haram’ which is writing anonymous letters threatening to take action if the school head is not immediately transferred from the school over alleged maladministration and heavy corporal punishment among other allegations.
One of the pupils Kundai Makado is said to be nursing wounds after severely beaten by one of the senior teachers at the school while the head Immaculate Tinago is alleged of flouting tender procedures, spending much of her time away from school and many other allegations which Santos Boko Haram, through anonymous letters, has threatened unspecified actions if she is not immediately transferred from the school.
Masvingo Provincial Education Director (PED) Zedias Chitiga confirmed the development and said he was awaiting report from the Zaka District Education Officer (DEO) so that they can deal with the problem.
“I have received reports that something terrible happened at Musiso and more events are unfolding currently. All we are waiting for at the moment are detailed reports of what is on the ground from DEO before we take immediate action. I have heard pupils have grievances and we will look into that,” Chitiga said.
Sources at the St Antonys’ High revealed that the group Santos Boko Haram was writing anonymous letters threatening teachers to be on the watch out as they are going to act soon if the problems at the school are not immediately addressed.
When contacted for comment, Tinago declined to comment saying she has since reported the matter to the DEO.
“The matter is being handled by DEO Mahofa so I cannot comment. Can you talk to the DEO I am sure he is in a position to comment,” said Tinago.
Chitiga, however, assured that they will attend the problem as soon as possible.news
