ZAKA – Martin Chiweta a well-known vendor and gambler from Jerera growth point has won an air ticket to South Africa courtesy of a Carling Black Label Cup draw sponsored by Delta Beverages.
The ticket gives Chiweta the privilege to fly to South Africa and watch a match between Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
Speaking to TellZim News, Chiweta said the ticket came as a surprise to him and he was happy and thankful to Delta Beverages for the privilege.
“I have won many prices in draws sponsored by Delta Beverages before but this has been my biggest masterstroke. I am a Lotto player and I used to gamble and win but had not expected something as big and exciting as this,” said Chiweta.
Delta Beverages Chiredzi sales representative, Tererai Zhou confirmed Chiweta’s good luck saying if his papers are in order, he will be leaving for Johannesburg together with others winners across the country.
“I know about Chiweta, and if he has a valid passport and has sent the required information to us, then he will be going,” said Zhou.
Chiweta was recently convicted and was sentenced to do 90 days community service at Jerera Magistrates Court after he was found with nine 90 kg of rubble from Fube-Panganai Mine.
He however made it clear that was not going to prevent him from feeling the comfort of the plane, saying he had already sought and got the permission needed to travel.local
