MWENEZI – Zanu PF factional fights here between Team Lacoste and alleged remnants of the defeated G40 seem to be not over after all.
At the event to mark the country’s 38th Independence Day held at Rutenga Primary School, Cuthbert Muzara, a central committee member, was given the platform to introduce dignitaries.
He, however, used the opportunity to embarrass Joosbir Omar by doing a slogan denouncing G40 while making inferences suggesting the current Mwenezi East MP’s political sunset was imminent.
“Pamberi neZanu PF naVaMnangagwa. Pasi ne maG40 ose. Pano tina MP Omar hedu. Havasati vabviswa zvavo kuparliament,” said Muzara.
A visibly shocked Omar was taken aback but he immediately stood to introduce himself and to counter Muzara’s insinuations.
“Pamberi neZanu PF naVaMnangagwa. Ini ndinonzi MP Joosbi Omar. Rimwe zita ramakandipa nderekuti Honourable nokuti ndimi vanhu makandisarudza,” said Omar.
Muzara and Omar have both been cleared to contest in the party’s primaries for Mwenezi East, and they will also face other candidates namely Jabulani Mberesi, Obert Mubaiwa, Master Makope, Marvellous Chifumiro, Francis Msipa, Ngavaite Sifana and Timatia Chisamba
Some Zanu PF members had sought Omar’s disqualification on the basis of his alleged links with G40 in the past.local
