Zvishavane – League contenders, FC Platinum have progressed to the last four of the prestigious Chibuku Super Cup after beating Triangle FC 1-0 in a tightly contested match at Gibbo Stadium over the weekend.
The game saw both teams struggling with possession as they failed to make any notable advances towards goal, as it was a battle of the midfield. However FC Platinum managed to break the deadlock through Kawashu in the 87th minute.
FC Platinum are slated to repeat the 2014 encounter when they lifted the cup after defeating the then Masimba Dinyero led Harare City FC in Mandava Stadium, this time around they will be facing the team with a different tactician; Moses ‘Bambo’ Chunga in the semi finals.
The win at the weekend gave the ‘Pure Platinum’ supporters something to smile about as they are now hoping for a double; that is, Premier League title and the Chibuku Cup.
“I hope we are going to cruise past Harare City, they are not hard to play against, we are going to repeat the 2014 encounter defeating them in the same fashion,” said one confidant fan of FC Platinum.
FC Platinum gaffer, Norman Mapeza is confidant with his team’s performance promising his fans a polished finish to the league and Chibuku Cup.
“FC Platinum are geared up to challenge for any honours this season, as you can see we have improved in almost every aspect, after defeating defending champions Dynamos in the league match and then going past Triangle this time around, I promise our fans more silverware this season,” said Mapeza.sport

Hello graduates, welcome to ‘Vendor-land’

0

Welcome to the world of vendors – ndoinonzi Vendorsland yamauya ino where you are going to survive with nothing but vending. Kkkk kutotengesa mabanana akaora chaiko kunana Mapombi Adonha.

But please help me to salute my two heroes from University of Zimbabwe vakomana makapenga!
I mean the recently graduated vendors from UZ. Ko iyo UZ yavakumboita seiko mazuvano. It has become a culture that there should be some kind of drama when there is a graduation at UZ, the drama ranges from people who are just called from the crowd to get a PhD and the following day vatova kunzi Dr Amai hehehee-e huriii!. Izvi ndizvo zvichatadzisa vakawanda kuita ma PhD iwayo atinongohwa nembiri. Kkkkk what if we also ask for our degrees, I deserve an honorary degree about the life that I have spent at the Dr Grace Mugabe Trading Centre. I must be called Dr Mapombi Adonha who specializes on eating rotten bananas and all those dirty things. Okay munhu wese achanzi doctor kana achingoda …asi hamunyari here machinda imwi, kuti mapedza kugoverana minda zvikaramba motanga kugoverana maPhD…kkkkk harisiro rinofunga…you will remain as stupid as before. Aah nhaka zvangu, sometimes kutaurisa hakusi bho because ndingamudzingwa muno maDr Amai mandinodyira mabanana angu akaora.
Now back to the two brave graduates who were able to protest at UZ graduation. Hear me graduates, life is tough here. I tried to do vending soon after my arrival in town but look where I am living now. I am therefore not scaring or threatening anyone but to be honest with you guys, munhu wese achatouya kuno chete. I do not have a computer and I don’t know how that twitter works but I hear the Minister of Stem said something very nasty about the two vendors who graduated at UZ recently. If what I heard was true, then the Minister should be examined – I mean how can the whole professor could stoop that low to the extent of tweeting that the degrees can be withdrawn because the two guys protested nenyaya yemabasa. It is a shame that the party which said it was going to unlock 2,2 million jobs is now telling its finest graduates that they should create own jobs. Kkkk ha guys sometimes kunyarawo so must be the right thing to do than trying to clarify, blaming everyone for your failure. Just recently you were saying tokupai mabasa, today you tell graduates to create own jobs. Iye minister of Stem kana kunyara wena, tweeting such rubbish nxaa I don’t like it.
Don’t blame anyone for failing to create jobs. You started your ZimAsset and nothing happened takangotarisa. Now that ZimAsset failed and with command Agriculture promising to be another failure and dubious ministers occupying high offices – the President can be forgiven for reading the same speech on several times.
But vafana you have graduated at a very wrong time …graduating when the government is introducing bond paper as money. It is the same time again when Zanu PF is just thinking about nothing besides kurova ma vendors and yet there is no option for you besides becoming vendors and try surviving through that. What can we do when the government says pataiti 2,2 million jobs taireva mavendors. This must be crazy.
So all the graduates are adding to the numbers of vendors already in the streets. What irks Mapombi is the hypocrisy from the government when they pretend as if they are not even involved – they are busy looking for money for the conference to be held here in December at the show grounds. This time it’s nearer so Mapombi can just walk there, who knows maybe ndogona kutoperekedzwa nemagraduates. Anything can happen in this vendorland.
But nyika ino mauraya moga guys. Don’t you see that airtime vending is the only job opportunity for the new graduates!
Isu vanaMapombi Regai zvedu tizvinyararire! Regai ndikange maputi angu for lunch.

Rupemba primary school in sorry state

. . . pupils learn from shacks, drink river water

Isabel Ndlovu

ZVISHAVANE –  Is Rupemba primary school still functioning? This is the question many people would first ask upon arrival at the school premises due to the ever deteriorating standards. Pupils are learning under trees and shacks and they risk water borne diseases like typhoid, diarhea and cholera as they drink water from the nearby river and other unprotected sources of water.
Walking into the school yard one is greeted by a smartly painted block with only two classrooms but the rest of the school is worrisome. There are shacks which are used as classrooms and the grass-thatched roofs need repair.
TellZim News established that pupils used to seat on the ground until Maxwell Moyo from Zvishavane popularly known as Chidhakwa donated furniture to the school. He further pledged to repair the furniture at his own cost if ever there was need to.
Charles Shava a local businessman donated a box of twelve 2Litre bottles of cooking oil, 50kg of beans and a case of salt for the feeding scheme. Enia Mazorodze an ECD teacher received the food stuffs and on behalf of the school thanked Shava.
“I would like to thank Shava for the donation. Our children were feeding on cabbage every day but I am happy they will change relish”, said Mazorodze.
However the Teacher In Charge (TIC) Judith Moyo was not reachable to give a comment on why the school was taking long to develop. However a close source told this publication that when Zvishavane Share Ownership Trust wanted to develop the school the District Administrator refused stating that the school was in Mberengwa not in Zvishavane.education

CHIREDZI – Childline, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which offer psychosocial support to abused children and also works with parents on child protection issues, will on October 13, 2016 launch Destination Unknown (DU) campaign aimed at supporting children in the Chiredzi.
Childline Project Officer Givemore Magumuye said in an interview that they realised the need to launch the programme in Chiredzi  after research revealed that the town had a lot of homeless children.
“Basically DU campaign is an international campaign to protect children on the move, that is, homeless children. The campaign is being implemented here in Chiredzi after we realised that the town is centralised between Limpopo and Mozambican borders, therefore many children come here with intention to cross either of the borders but sometimes fail and come back,” said Magumuye.
He also said the campaign comes at a time when most children from the Mozambican side migrate into Zimbabwe due to the instabilities in their country and most of them find themselves in Chiredzi.
“Basically most of the children are currently coming from Mozambique because of the political instability. We have no doubt that this programme will give these children enough support and assist them to reunite with their families,” Magumuye said.
He said the programme will be supported by other organisations like Coalition Against Child Labour Zimbabwe (CACLAZ) and Zimbabwe National Council of the Welfare of Children (ZNCWC) in partnership with Terres des Hommes International Federation.news

Mberengwa – Villagers in Mberengwa are pleading with well-wishers and the donor community for financial assistance to complete Madhekwana Clinic in ward 8 in Mberengwa East constituency.
The project which kicked off in March 29, 2016.
In an interview with TellZim News, Mataruse B1 Ward 8 councillor Marline Shava Ziwewera said they are appealing for funds to complete Madhekwana clinic.”The completion of Madhekwana clinic is overdue. We are appealing to the business community and donors to chip in and assist either in cash or kind. Villagers are walking long distances to the nearest clinics and this clinic will be of great help,” said Ziwewera.
To show commitment, the community members have managed to raise US$245.00 which is currently in their pocket and is far from being enough to fund the project.
The clinic is now at roof level and the constructions have since stop, owing to the financial constraints.
“We need about US$7 000.00 to complete the project. We owe our contractors US$2000. 00 in cash and this has negatively affected our project since no operations are taking place,” said Ziwewera.news

ZVISHAVANE – Canada 64 Gold Mine, which is located 20 km away from Zvishavane, has increased its production after acquiring state-of-the-art roller mill recently.
The mine director Polani Mathemabi said they shifted from using stump mill to the new roller mill which is more effective and efficient.
“We recently acquired a roller mill which is more efficient compared to the stump mill we were using before. This increased our gold output by 20 percent,” said Mathemabi.

“We have been named the Miner of the Year by the Zimbabwe Miners Federation in July this year. I am happy that our work is being recognised,” Mathemabi said.
“We have partnered Bedford Blue 1 Mine and Mnene 100 which are owned by Charles Shava and we have no doubt that the move will increase out gold output. The roller mill produces at least three tones per hour which is twice more than the stump mill,” he added.
Shava said he is very happy with the current production and hinted that they are considering to increase the manpower.
“I am happy with the progress so far and I foresee the company becoming one of the major companies suppliying gold to government,” said Shava.news

Zvishavane – A Zvishavane man was last week dragged to court to answer allegations of kidnapping a three year old daughter from Mandava township.
Abraham Shava (30) appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Peter Madiba facing kidnapping charges.
It is the State’s case that Shava visited his brother who stays in Mandava and upon arrival, he lured a neighbour’s three year old daughter and disappeared with her. The daughter’s mother Maggie Gwatikona who was busy doing house chores later realised that her daughter was missing where she was playing with other children and went out to investigate.
A follow up was made and Shava was found with the baby near Gresham Primary School which is a notable distance from the victim’s place. He was proceeding to an unknown destination.
The court heard that Gwatikona then demanded her daughter back but Shava resisted resulting in the former inviting passers-by to help. People then assisted Gwatikona to get her child back before they assaulted Shava. It was heard that Shava retaliated by stoning people who had gathered before he fled the scene but they chased him. He was later handed over to the police.
Shava denied the allegations and insisted that Gwatikona only saw her when he was assisting the child to cross the road back to her mother’s house. Magistrate Madiba deferred the case to a later date. Sheilla Mpindu prosecuted.news

Council to demolish illegal light industrial shops?

0

Itai Muzondo

MASVINGO – Masvingo City Council announced at the just ended Full Council Meeting that they are forced to demolish all illegal light industrial shops behind Mucheke Bus Terminus in order to allow the City Engineer to peg proper structures.
Areas to be affected are structures adjacent to ‘R’ section houses in ward 1.
“The committee (Public Works and Planning) noted that the situation was bad on the space adjacent the ‘R’ Section houses in Ward 1 where an open space had been occupied illegally by the public who were engaged in various light industrial activities,” read the minutes.
Council management, however, decided to formally allocate the land in question as light industrial sites though councillors are arguing that the process will entail demolishing the existing illegal structures so as to pave way for the City Engineer to peg stands.
“Pegging the land legally is a nobble idea though this will call for council to demolish the existing illegal structures. How will the engineer allocate land under already existing structures,” argued councillors in consensus during the full council meeting.
Management promised to take the suggestion to demolish illegal structures into consideration or they would peg and formalize the already existing activities.
“The City Engineer be instructed to create light industrial stands on the open space between Mucheke light industry and ‘R’ Section houses to formalize the activities,” read the council resolution.news

Institutional reforms imminent – NTJWGZ

TellZim Reporter

Masvingo – The National Transitional Justice Working Group Zimbabwe (NTJWGZ) has expressed that national institutional reforms are imminent reflecting the need to foster equal opportunities for all political sides.
Speaking ahead of a public meeting to be held in Masvingo at the Charles Austin Theatre on October 21, 2016, NTJWGZ Thematic Leader on Institutional Reforms, Tony Reeler urged locals to attend the meeting to hear their leader’s views.
“Many state institutions in Zimbabwe are not genuinely independent. The constitution is clear that these institutions must be non-partisan. The current problem is that these institutions are aligned to one party,” Reeler said.
“For example, the police often breach constitutional clauses as well as its Police Act by failing to be neutral. The same situation is even visible with our leaders who are used to campaign and force people to supporting a political party. Such issues are among the issues to be discussed by panelists coming for our public meeting and it is important that residents come and participate in such events so that they make decisions from an informed point of view,” he added.
The meeting is organized by NTJWGZ in conjunction with TellZim News. news
