Missing $15 billion and poor Zimbabweans

Who can victimise Mapombi for being a prophet only once per year when everyone has become a prophet in one way or another?
I have heard that some people are making a lot of money for just telling us that so and so is going to die before winter or just telling us that someone somewhere is very angry. Kkk yes at some point someone somewhere can be angry at any given time. But gentlemen, this prophesy is going to pass, and once that happens, I will plant my church right at the centre of the Chitima Dr Grace Trading Flea Market.
I predict that this country will be closed before December – ehe kuvharwa chaiko kuti hakuchina chinonzi Zimbabwe because things are getting tough by the day. I can tell you that all the people who are passing through the flea market are always complaining.  There is no new story that you hear besides kungonzwa vanhu vachiti hey zvinhu zvaoma! No one is saying any positive comments about the government, kungotuka chete or just saying something evil about mudhara wenyu uyu or Dr Amai (PhD).
Some were saying vakadzi vedu vapera panechimwe chiprivate clinic ichi chemutown chinoshandisa fake doctors who have fake qualifications from Blantyre while mudhara and his wife sent their daughter to the East to deliver – they no longer trust everything that happens here.
Kkkk akazondipedza ndeumwe akati don’t you think these guys go out of the country kuenda kutoilet chaiko kkkk they might no longer trust even our sewer system – for everything they fly to Dubai, China or Singapore.
Ko kutyei, mungatya kudya yemarema kkk, isu vana Mapombi takatozvipira kugara musango for we have completely failed to secure accommodation in town. We are now surviving on rotten bananas.
Hey but this week chando chakandirova musi wa 1 May to the extent that I almost thought that going back kumusha would be far better but ndonodya ivhu here ikoko because even rotten bananas hakuna. Things can be tough, kkk haiwavo I was comforted by the fact that takapedzisira tangowanda mustreet this week maticha aidawo mari plus haiwa munhu here iyeye aida cash mutown umu and I heard there was nothing in banks.
But maZimbo makapenga, kekeke kuseka nhamo serugare, ndibatei – shake me hands because you are a rare breed. Look at how Zuma is being roasted over a few million dollars but you remain silent muchikuzvurana in queues fighting to get some few notes mubank apa monyimwa zvohi hakuna mari when some few probably less than five people are enjoying your 15 billion dollars.
The President and all his cabinet must therefore resign if they fail to give us the culprits but haiwawo ungaudzaani? Our leaders and our poor Zimbabweans – iiyi zvakangofanana gudo nemunhu – kudyirwa makatarisa. Regai zvedu tinyarare mungazoti I speak too much. We need US$ 2 billion kuti tigadzire road irikuuraya vanhu everyday – Harare to Masvingo and one person pockets all the money and no one questions except chedu Morgan – chematama. Munongoti chematama but chine zvose matama nenjere chiya because at least he is demanding his money – haungadyi mari iya uri one mapedza moenda kunopemha mari and when we question you then tell us kuti ma sanctions. Kkk vakomana musatidaro so, takapusa zvedu but maifanirawo kuita muchinyara vamwe.
I heard some people vaifamba vachidarika nekwangu uko kwandino kushita uko – hanzi Mnangagwa akaita zvokutoenda nendege kurufu kwaChivi? Ndakati honaiwo – of course he can’t risk his life driving in pot hole ridden Zimbabwean roads, in fact for him, KwaChivi hakuna road regai aite zvendege but imi mirai zvenyu muma queue mari ichanaya kubva kudenga kkkk at least I don’t have a bank account ndirinane.
Ndakazonzwawo mumwe hanzi aah Mapombi chiya chinopenga but chinoonera madhiri manje because hey chinotaura wena. Yes I speak and I shall speak although I know kuti vanhu vacho havachatsiuriki, they are now beyond that since they have become some gods in their own rights. Ko ungatsiura Mwari here?
Munozoti ndotaurisa, regai ndimbonononga chibage chandaona charasikira panjanji apo ndizokanga zvangu maputi angu for lunch.
Please mukadarika nekwa Chirimudombo muvaudze kuti Mapombi Adonha takamuona asi ari kukanga waya!

Rural Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe in recruitment drive

Kennedy Murwira
The Rural Teachers’ Union in Zimbabwe has called for all rural teachers to join the union which has pledged to work towards the achievement of better working conditions for rural teachers while pushing for a rural teacher’s allowance.
The organisation’s national spokesperson, Robson Ruhanya who is a teacher at Gutu High School in Gutu, said the union was formed in 2014 with Obert Masaraure from Chemhanza High School in Wedza and Robson Chere from Arcturus High School taking the posts of President and Secretary respectively.
“The rural teacher’s voice is not being heard. Most teachers in rural areas are exposed to political influence in the schools because schools are used as centres for politicking.  Their working conditions are poor with some of them using pole and dagga structures as classrooms and the same as their accommodation.
In this regard they are exposed to bad weather and they are not accorded any security from thieves and wild animals. It is the union’s target to work for better accommodation and better road networks for rural schools,” Ruhanya said.
He said policy issues are being distorted because of poorly developed communication networks in rural areas.
The union was formed by disgruntled Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) members protesting alleged lack of implementation of policies and the organisation’s failure to question the education ministry’s revision of vacation leave.
“We want to correct the situation because current teacher representative bodies have become passive. They are now sympathetic to the employer. We encourage all rural teachers to join the union because we represent their interests,” said Ruhanya.news

MDC-T is the solution: Mureyi

TellZim Reporter
The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) national executive member and shadow minister of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises Takanayi Mureyi (pictured) said his party was the only solution to the problems bedevilling Zimbabwe.
Speaking at a press briefing in Masvingo on Workers’ Day, Mureyi bemoaned the collapse of the Zimbabwean economy saying it was ridiculous that the Zanu-PF government which talked about the 2,2 million jobs has never managed to create even a single job since 2013.
He said there was no Workers’ Day to talk about since almost all Zimbabweans have become vendors.
“There are no workers to talk about in this country. We no longer have employers because we have been reduced to a mere vendor economy. The Zanu-PF government promised 2,2 million jobs but completely failed to fulfil its pledge – in fact Zanu-PF is now known for bringing bogus economic blueprints that do not yield any positive change,” said Mureyi.
Mureyi however, said his political party was the only one which can re-open the industries.
“It is pathetic that industries are being converted into classrooms – it defies logic when a university for example takes over a mine. How can you allow a situation where over 40 000 graduates are churned out annually only to find out that potential industries have been turned into classrooms.
“Schools and colleges are now renting from potential employers in the industrial areas – and that’s a sign that those in power who allow such a scenario to take place do not have hope that the industries may re-open soon.
“Zanu-PF has nothing new to offer today,” said Mureyi.
Mureyi was optimistic that his party will deliver. He also said victory was certain in 2018 since almost everyone has discovered that MDC-T is a genuine pro-people party.
Mureyi also urged Zimbabweans to stand up and demonstrate against the government.
“We need to be firm and say enough is enough. We need to have peaceful demonstrations every day. The people who are just wandering in the streets are in a way subconsciously demonstrating every day and what we need to do now is to educate them so that they don’t walk in different directions – they must be organised so that they start from one point going in one direction,” said Mureyi.news

Resettlement areas, farms to have chiefs: Chief Gutu

Kennedy Murwira
Farming communities that include purchased areas created by the colonial government as well as resettlement areas will soon be under the leadership of traditional leaders who will oversee the maintenance of traditional norms and values, Chief Gutu has said.
Speaking at the installation ceremony of a new headman, Headman Maburutse at Chatikobo High School last week incumbent Chief Gutu, Amon Edmond Masanganise, urged today’s youth to take pride in their origins.
“I urge all parents here present to restore our cultural heritage by teaching the youth our language and our customs. It has come to my attention that farming communities surrounded by communal areas do not want to work with us saying they do not recognise traditional leadership.
“I tell them here and now that there must be cordial relations and peaceful co-existence between communities on the farms and in the communal areas because we will soon demarcate farming and resettlement areas and bring them under traditional leadership,” Masanganise said.
Masanganise said people from farming communities in the Mutunduru area, resettled farmers, as well as farmers in the Nyazvidzi area should pay due respect to the newly installed Headmen Zinyemba and Maburutse since their respective areas will fall under their jurisdiction.
He ordered Chief Munyaradzi, who has been opposing the appointment of the new headman through the District Administrator’s office, to stop contesting the appointment based on existing boundaries.
Masanganise said as the Paramount Chief, he was the only one with powers to appoint new headmen.
The soon-to-be 92 year old new Headman Maburutse is currently based in the Chesa area of Mount Darwin and will occasionally come back to oversee the running of his land.news

Woman slapped four years for kidnaping one day old child

Upenyu Chaota
The Chivi Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a Runyararo West woman to four years in prison after she was convicted of breaking into a Berejena Hospital maternity ward and stealing a one day old child.
Rester Mapombwa (31) who resides at number 3 Linos Mukaro Street in Runyararo West, Masvingo, had lied to her boyfriend that she was pregnant with his child.
Magistrate Bishard Chineka slapped Mapombwa with 48 months in prison, setting aside 12 months on condition that she would not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
She pleaded guilty to the charge of kidnapping a baby belonging to Tatenda Nhinga (18) from Masvingise village, Headman Makamure, Chief Nemaushe in Chivi.
It is the state’s case that on April 26, 2016, around 1300hrs at Berejena Hospital, Mapombwa broke into the maternity ward masquerading as one of the mothers in the ward.
When she got in the ward, she told the other mothers that their clothes which they had washed had fallen off the drying line. The mothers then left the ward to go and pick up the clothes but when they arrived they saw all their clothes on the line.
They rushed back to the ward and found that Nhinga’s one day old baby was missing and alerted the hospital security.
The security personnel then chased after Mapombwa and caught up with her in the bushes with the baby already in her bag. When she was asked why she had kidnapped the baby, she said she wanted to please her husband.
She was taken to the police where a report was made, leading to her arrest.

Government on move to reduce satellite schools

Itai Muzondo
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has embarked on a drive to reduce satellite schools in Masvingo’s Chiredzi and Mwenezi districts amid reports that they have not yet met the anticipated upgrading of schools so that they have conducive learning environments, TellZim News has learnt.
Confirming the development to TellZim News, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Patrick Zumbo however said the ministry principals decided to register the schools with immediate effect following a realisation that they had gone for too long operating under the shadows of other schools.
“The system was not healthy at all. You would realise that some satellite schools had gone for as long as 15 years’ operating under the shadows of well-developed schools and that stalled development. A decision was then made upon this realisation to register all satellite schools with minimum requirements so that they can run independently.
“The projects will also be supported by the School Improvement Grants which are accessed from government. Chiredzi and Mwenezi were the selected districts in Masvingo since they are the areas where most resettled farmers are, thus automatically having the largest number of satellite schools in the area,” Zumbo said.
Reiterating the development, Masvingo Provincial Education Director, Zedias Chitiga said it was proper for government to act that way as it was a long-awaited development.
“We are actually celebrating the development as it was a development long awaited. We are also of the belief that when these schools run independently more development will be realised,” Chitiga said, though he could not disclose which schools had been targeted for upgrading.news

Sabie Gold mine to resume operations

Itai Muzondo
Zvishavane’s Sabie Gold Mine which closed down in 2014 due to financial constraints is set to resume operations by July this year, after indications that an investor interested in resuscitating the mine has been found, TellZim News can reveal.
The mine’s judicial manager Wesley Sibanda confirmed that operations will soon resume and salary arrears will be cleared when the mine resumes operations.
“We appreciate the efforts by the Deputy Minister of Mines, Freddy Moyo who secured an investor for us to resume operations at our mine which has been defunct for almost three years.
“We have already ordered all the equipment needed for the mine to start working. We have also contracted FC Platinum Holdings to help us with some repairs and with the progress on the ground so far, we will be good to go in three months’ time,” said Sibanda.
Sibanda added that they expect to pay all employees’ outstanding salaries by the end of February 2017 should everything go according to plan.
Contacted for comment, Deputy Minister Moyo said he was happy that there was an investor willing to put money into the venture.
“I am very happy that an investor has pulled in to resuscitate the mine. We are very pleased at the employment prospects that have been created for the people of Zvishavane,” said Moyo.
Moyo added that he will see to it that all administrative issues are urgently expedited so as to avoid any possible delays.
“I am also informed that there are issues that need to be resolved between the mine and ZMDC and I have since resolved to provide any necessary help so that there will be no delays in resuming operations,” Moyo said.news

Zanu-PF youths arrested for disrupting Zim PF meeting

Itai Muzondo
In an unusual development, ten Zanu-PF youths were arrested in Bikita for disrupting a Zimbabwe People First (Zim PF) meeting which was being held at Mashoko business centre in Bikita recently.
The ten, Maxwell Mushayamunda, Joseph Masakadze, Pikisanai Mufiri, Nyama Masakadze, Tichaona Mashavira, Innocent Mashavira, Sarah Chidzemwe, Botha Mupfumba, Jephitah Chiropa and Upenyu Mufiri were arrested after Bikita Zim PF Coordinator Kudakwashe Gopo made a report to the police.
“It was all a game of numbers. Zanu-PF actually tried to threaten people who had gathered for our meeting. They were annoyed that their own meeting which was being held a small distance from our venue was poorly attended. They then decided to disrupt our well-attended meeting.
“They came with sticks threatening to beat us but we just remained calm and proceeded to make a police report since we had a clearance. The police were forced to take action when the youths followed us to the camp singing revolutionary songs,” Gopo said.
Bikita Zim PF leader, Retired Colonel Claudius Makova said he was happy with the action taken by the police and urged youths to refuse to be used as tools of violence.
“I am pleased by how the police responded to the rowdy behavior of the Zanu-PF youths. I am also happy that Zim PF members didn’t respond with violence against the thugs. They followed the right course as required by the law.
“It gives us confidence that the police will continue to act against political violence in a non-partisan manner now that we are approaching elections.
“The youth must refuse to be used in exchange for opaque beer. Every sane person must reject orders to toyi toyi at police camps as these youths were made to do,” Makova said.news

Danhamombe High to host provincial culture week launch

Upenyu Chaota
Danhamombe High School in Chivi will this year host the 2016 Masvingo provincial culture week launch on May 26, 2016.
The culture week, which will be coordinated by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) will be running under the theme, “Culture Week- Towards Increased Community Participation”
NACZ Masvingo Provincial Manager, Helen Mudefi, said the culture week provides an opportunity for people to deepen their understanding of cultural diversity in line with ZimAsset which calls for equal participation especially with the marginalised communities.
“The NACZ has a week-long programme of events called culture week starting on May 21. Culture Week thus provides an opportunity for people to deepen their understanding of cultural diversity,” said Mudefi.
Mudefi added that culture forms an integral part of people’s existence and identity.
“The event addresses the need for co-existence and inter-cultural dialogue taking cognisance of the diversity of culture in Zimbabwe. The theme seeks to encourage the participation of people across the cultural divide in cultural activities and discourse.
“In line with ZimAsset, which advocates the promotion of cultural diversity, Culture Week promotes harmony and ownership of the programme by communities,” said Mudefi.news
